1200-Amp Power Installation in a Historic Mill Building
Maco recently completed a challenging and high-impact project in the heart of New Bedford, Massachusetts, at a 1900s-era mill building. The scope: install 1200 amps of 480-volt, 3-phase power across 900 feet of the building and commission a new 1200-amp I-Line distribution panel—all within a demanding timeline of just 14 days.
This project came with no shortage of obstacles. The historic building presented unique challenges, including aging infrastructure and numerous physical obstacles that required creative problem-solving and precision execution. Navigating through these conditions, our team leveraged its deep technical expertise, meticulous planning, and unwavering commitment to safety to deliver results that exceeded expectations.
Key to our success was our ability to adapt to the building’s limitations while ensuring the new power infrastructure integrated seamlessly with the existing systems. We implemented solutions tailored to the site’s specific needs, ensuring the integrity of the installation while minimizing disruption to the building’s operations.
